Step 1. Download the PerfectBackup Manager tarball release (obm-linux.tar.gz) from the website.

Step 2. Set the OBM_HOME environment variable

# export OBM_HOME=/usr/local/obm

Step 3. Expand the client software to $OBM_HOME

# mkdir $OBM_HOME

# tar –x –C $OBM_HOME -zvf obm-linux.tar.gz

Step 4. Install OBM

# cd $OBM_HOME

# ./bin/install.sh

Step 5. Start Auto Upgrade Agent

# /etc/init.d/auaobm start

Step 6. Start backup scheduler

# /etc/init.d/obm-scheduler start

Step 7. Set the DISPLAY environment variable

Step 8. Run OBM

# sh $OBM_HOME/bin/BackupManager.sh &
