New Online Backup Sizing Tools Available
Posted on 09-07-2009PerfectBackup have launched version 2 of their online backup sizing tool. This application has been designed to enable clients to establish what size backup account will be required. Simply select what data you
need to backup and the online backup sizing tool will work out expected
compression ratios and tell you the account size required.
Step 1 - Download the sizing tool by clicking the image to the right and when prompted select "run"
Step 2 - The application will automatically open as per below:-
Step 3 - Select the drive or folder you wish to backup, as a test we are to analyse C:\ as below:-
Now click the "Run Analysis" button. The time taken to analyse your data will depend on the amount of data selected and the available processing power of your server or computer.
Once finished the analysis tool will first tell you how much data you have stored in raw/native format. As shown below we have 56.4GB:-
If you then scroll down the estimated compression ratios will be illustrated, below you will see the 54.6GB of data will be compressed to 34.2GB meaning a 35GB online backup solution would be required.
